the heart of the gathering is the main circle - workshop are announced,practical
information is given,personal visions are shared.there are also many
time-related circles,some concerned siti practical stj,for example vision
council where the decision are made on the basis of a concensus of everyone in
the circle.everybody has the option to speak up-one at time,respect the
speaker.if neccessary,a talking stick/feather will be used.an important
concensus is the completelt co-comercial charakter of rainbow-gatherings.there
is no buying or selling.communal needs are financed through the magic hat.after
meals is opportunity to contribute.in camplite,be tolerant and act
kindly.respect difference.if there is any kind of friction-make a circle.many
times us see just what we like-remember : the world is a mirror.TRUTH SIMPLICITY LOVE
WHAT TO BRING : your own bowl,spoon and cup are essential.so are water
containers ! bring suffficient clothing and shelter.the climate might be
different from what you are used to.dont leave your musical instruments at home
! if you have transport possibilities,bring tood in bulk like
grains,pulses,nuts,dried fruits-herbs and natural medicines are good for
medicine-area.if you are from area,maybe you can help with farm/common
connections!tools especially shovels,wood cutting-tools and kitchen equipment
are always needed.bring some rope.pems,paint brushes and carboard for art and
sign are a good idea too.please dont bring stereos or other technical gadgets
which have inialt on others.camera - freaks : please ask before taking
somebody's picture ! dont bring any alcohol, neither drugs ! dont support
dealing on the gatherings !! if you can't leave your dog,pleasekeep him/her out
of the kitchen and dogfights ! take 100% responsibility ! dont leave dog shit
lying arround.use public transport to get to gatherings,till your vehicle if you
have to use it.please leave it at the parking lot ! this also the place where
you can find help with mechanics.act kindly and helpful with locals,respect
local customs-in manybcountries nudity and even improper dressing is frowned
upon.consider that any unkind behaviour,drug consumpton,shoplifting bring
miscredit to the whole family !!
SEED CAMP :if you have the time,come early...many weeks,sometimes months before
the "official beginning " of a gathering people will start to congregate.Lots
and Lots of work is to be done,the basic outline of the camping
areas,kitchen,main circle,welcome-center etc.is created,supply-connections need
to be organized.shit-pits are dug,sign posted,trails might be fixed,some
gatherings need hosepipe-system for drinking water...the atmosphere is very
family-like,a good time to really get close to people.
CLEAN UP : when you leave,think of how your campsite looked like before you
came...ideally,it should look the samewher you're gone.carry out all garbage (
try to take more than what you brought),scatter the rocks from your fire-pit and
fill it in,same with shitters and compost-pits.Since not everybody acts that
way,look for abandoned campsites which need the same treatment.All communal
structures need dismantling,kitchens,ovens,siseatlodges are taken down,sometimes
trails should be dug up,and there will probably be a pilee of garbage...a
clean-up-council will coordinate the efforts,and any participation is greatly
appreciated !
AROUND CAMP
KITCHEN :volunteer for kitchen - wash hands.clip nails no pot-mouth-pot tasting
sick people shouldn't work in the kitchen.people and vehicles are needet for
food-runs-contact with kitchen council.Don't put sugar.Hot spices.Animal
products into the food-try to make it edible for as many special-diet-freaks as
possible!Announce ingredients people might not eat before serving : avoid food
combinations like fruitmuesli or potato - bean - soap dig compost !
GARBAGE : Don't bring packages,carry out what you can. Separate all garbage for
recycling.Burn paper and cigarettes butts.Please don't throw cigarettes on the
ground,they are very toxic ! some with aluminium ! If you take garbage out,try
bring it far away and not impact the dumpster in the closer surroundings
SHIT PITS :please,please : use them !! see that there is for your
neighborhood.Cover all shit use ashes and / o limeto keep tlies off.Open te
tiles- food are the major rainbow health-hazard !water is more ecological than
paper
FIRE :dig out firepits avoid rootfires : keep waterband sand close use only dry
wood standing deadwood is dryed in rain.Please,do not throw garbage cigarrette
butts in to sacred fires !
WOOD : please dont cut living trees.Some gatherings have arrangaments for
tipipoles,check before you go and choose sick trees-better still:bring poles in
some environments,especially desert,no wood at all should be taken.
DRUMMING : Be considerate when people want to sleep - esp. medicine . shanti .
kids areas need silence at night !
MEDICINE AREA : help out with wood water tea SHARE KNOWLEDGE medicine area should be calm-don't camp too close.
WATER : KEEP WATER CLEAN No pissing and shitting close to any water.Take special care of drinking water sources,dont walk in spring areas.Use soap only in
buckets and draim soapy water some distance away from the stream.It's Rainbow -
